Biography

Suvi Konttinen is an artist (painter) and a curator, born in 1976 in Rauma, Finland. A specialist in modern and contemporary art and museum studies. M.A. from the University of Helsinki (2000). She also studied at the Ludwig-Maximillians-Universität in Munich, Germany (1998), and art conservation at the EVTEK Institute of Art and Design, Vantaa, Finland (1998-1999).

Certificate in Painting, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Department of Continuing Studies (2007). Studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, Finland (1998-1999), and at the Art School of University of Helsinki, Finland (1997-1998). Member of the Chicago Artists’ Coalition. Has taken part in several solo and group exhibitions in Finland and US. Her paintings can be found in several corporate and private collections around the world. She has actively taken part in the art scene in Chicago, where she now lives.
